TTC Haul - 6.1.13

Last night, I got the great idea that I would test in the a.m.  If I received a BFN (which I did - still have hope though its only 13 dpo), then I would go to my local asian herb specialist.  So before I went to bed, I googled a bunch of different herbs that would be great for fertility, increasing cervical mucous, increasing egg health etc....

My first stop this morning was at CVS to get some Pre-Seed lubricant.  Pre-Seed is supposed to be fertility friendly unlike normal lubricants that are hostile to sperm....and my objective of getting pregnant.

Then, I went to see the asian herb specialist, because I knew that he would be able to help me get all of the herbs I wanted and needed to help me on this TTC journey.  The receptionist greeted me and informed me that the consultation would be $40 and then he would put together a herbal combination for me along with an acupuncture schedule.  I kindly thanked him for this information and ran out of there so fast I nearly lost a flip flop.  Are you F-ing kidding me?  I'm trying to have a baby not get  pushed into bankruptcy.  (p.s... I know that to some of my readers this is just the cost of trying to achieve their dream - but I aint been trying that long)

Ok, i'm now sitting in the parking lot looking dazed and confused and I decide to go to my local natural foods store that i've never been to.  Insert heavenly bells here.  lol.  They had a lot of the herbs that I wanted to get.   So what did I end up buying:
1) Raspberry leaf
2) Milk Thistle
3) Nettle leaves
4) Dandelion roots
5) Red clover
6) Marshmallow root
7) Licorice root and
8) Castor oil

All of those herbs and the castor oil came to $17.  My kinda price!

I think that I am going to make 2 different kinda teas with them.  1 i'm going to make with all of the herbs and 2) I'm gonna make another batch mixing it with my Fertilitea that I purchased (minus the nettles and red raspberry leaf since they are already included)...  I say the 2 different kinds in case I dont like the taste of the first batch, I know I like the fertilitea and hopefully adding the extra stuff wont affect the taste.

Oh, I found this great site today after coming home (thank God not before for my wallets sake) where they list the different fertility herbs and how they can help with various issues (ex. PCOS, endometriosis, low libido, cervical mucous etc.)

So I think I should be good.  I also decided that I'm gonna try the Sperm Meets Egg Plan by Deanna Roy (the book is currently free on amazon kindle) if im not pregnant this cycle.

So to completely have everything I need, I will need some OPK's, but before I order those, I am gonna wait and see if AF arrives this upcoming week.

I will also continue with my pre-natals and maybe throw in an ashwaganda pill that I have laying around here somewhere.

Baby dust to us all!

My journey to motherhood: Prenatal

We're officially trying to conceive - (I think, lol)

I am now beginning to start this journey towards motherhood.  I think that im finally mentally ready, which hasn't been easy.  But since im 31, I figured it was time to get the mental ready, before the physical was no longer capable, lol.  So we are now trying to conceive (TTC)

I always told myself that because I grew up in a home and my husband grew up in a home, we wanted to wait till we had a house, before we had kids.  Well, we closed on the house back in September 2011, so, i have no more excuses, lol.

So, as a future mother, I want to be the perfect (ok semi-perfect), host for this lil creature, lol, so what am I doing?  Well, i've been religiously taking my pre-natal pills since September because i've been off the pill since then, and if I were to get pregnant, I am trying to knock out any chances of the child getting spina bifida, neural tube defects, or any other folic acid-deficiency related issues. My newest pre-natal pill has DHA as well, which is also good for something, im sure. :)
s/n Walgreens has the brainstrong prenatal pills for $10 this week, with your walgreens card, and then
you get back $10 in register rewards (or whatever their called at Walgreens), making them free.
then they have a $4 off coupon in their vitamin and supplements booklet (right over by the vitamins)
which makes the deal not only free, but a $4 money maker.  :)   Lets just stay, I stocked up.

I have also been juicing.  I love fresh fruit juice and am learning to love fresh vegetable juices.  I have been slacking on my pimping a lot lately, but I need to go purchase a bunch of fresh fruit and vegetables.  My church is also about to go on a fast, and so I believe that juicing during that time will be a nice detox as well.  (if i can make it pass 4 hours of juicing, lol).

I had lost over 20 pounds last year, but I found them again.  So I need to start back exercising and eating healthier.  Next topic, lol.

Then, of course, more sex :)  Seeming as we are just now starting off with TTC, and time is not of the essence just yet, I will not be using ovulation predictors/calculators etc.  I just want to enjoy the process for the time being.  Maybe if by January 2014, we still aren't pregnant, then o.k., time to look towards science, but till then, we'll just keep practicing.

Besos!
